Before assembling a proposal, it is important that artists FIRST, follow the guidelines in “How to Apply". WSP does not accept blanket proposals.

WSP core concerns, revolve around the realization of site specific, context specific approaches to the Frankston area, in any media and any genre. So WSP offers artists, in a collaborative spirit, the opportunity to consider “Sites – reserved for WSP” and “Open Sites” see below. Projects which involve “Sites – reserved for WSP” are generally easier and faster to realize. While WSP enjoys the generous support of many local institutions, projects in some “Open Sites” can take longer to realize, as for some of these sites, there are more stakeholders involved in negotiation.

Sites reserved for WSP practices:

  1. A Shop Front located in White Street. NOTE: This site is no longer available in 2008
  2. One wall of Light Boxes which can also act as vitrines.
  3. Two Shipping Containers which may be located in various sites within Frankston.

Open Sites:

  1. The Frankston CBD/CAD as a whole, subject to owner/ leaseholder/ council approval. See Maps
  2. Selected institutions inside and close to Frankston, such as the Royal Botanical Gardens Cranbourne.
  3. Sites and spaces which are virtual and/or by traditional measure: non-art sites.

WSP is a new initiative of Frankston City Council Cultural
Development Unit, co-funded by Arts Victoria, Australia.
