Our Context
WSP facilitates innovative projects in contemporary art and cross disciplinary practices, sited in Frankston (Vic, Australia), by artists residing ANYWHERE. WSP provides a platform for emerging artists, collectives and cross disciplinary teams. WSP welcomes approaches, from Artists, who have a track record as exhibiting artists, for selected projects.

WSP collaborates with artists and cross-disciplinary teams, to develop proposals and implement artist projects, which are SITE SPECIFIC to Frankston Vic Australia, in ANY MEDIA and ANY GENRE. WSP invites artists to consider possibilities, inherent in the local context and the public sphere. WSP production funds all selected work. These works are temporary works and remain the property of the artist.

WSP only implements site specific or context specific projects. Artists who have not worked in this modality but, wish to propose a project in this context are welcome. WSP works in a dialogue with all artists, to explore what possibilities there are with your practice, in relation to the site (Frankston) and our contexts. If appropriate, WSP pursues this dialogue to the point where artist(s) and WSP feel that a specific project would be relevant and workable for both parties. WSP then extends an invitation to the artist(s) to propose a project and assists in this process, if necessary.

WSP is open to expressions of interest.

Our Core Concerns
revolve around the realization of site specific, context specific approaches to the Frankston area, in any media and any genre. So WSP offers artists, in a collaborative spirit, the opportunity to consider “Sites – reserved for WSP” and “Open Sites” see below. Projects which involve “Sites – reserved for WSP” are generally easier and faster to realize. “Open Sites” can taker longer to realize, as there are more stakeholders involved in negotiation.

Project Sites:
“Sites – reserved for WSP”
1. Two Shipping Containers which may be located in various sites within Frankston. One shipping container is "glassed in" acting as a hermetic cube suitable for video or static installations.                                                                                                    2. One wall of light boxes which can also act as vitrines.

“Open Sites”
1. The Frankston CBD/CAD as a whole, subject to owner/leaseholder/council approval. See Maps
2. Selected institutions iwithin and close to Frankston.
3. Sites and spaces which are virtual and/or by traditional measure: non-art sites.
